Hey Yrsa, do you think that red is spray painted? I have a pine book case I sprayed lightly with red paint, the grains show through. At any rate, very nicely taken. and thanks for stopping in at my parade. ..
Thankyou for all comments and interesting guesses on the origin: these pics are not a barn, nor a fence and no - the wood has not been spray painted.
The wood in the buildings belong to an old dwelling house in the Archipelago - this particular part of the building dates back to the early 19th century (that is - the buildings oldest parts and these logs are about 200 years old). The logs are partly in rather good condition as they have been covered by planks for most of the time. The exposed parts are more weathered. The red colour is typical of this kind of dwellings with an age of 100 years+ in Finland. Lately the colour has been used in new wooden buildings as well.
The colour is in English known as Falu red. See wikipedia -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falu_red

Nice subject matter for Ruby Tuesday, and artfully presented.
Makes me wonder what's behind them :)
Nice red.
I'm assuming this is a barn stained red. It must be beautiful against a green landscape. ;-)
Love the textures in these pics! Most unusual perspective!
That first one stopped me in my tracks. I love the composition and the texture.
I love these. They are so rich in texture and line. They remind me of good modern art paintings.
These are wonderful photos! Happy Ruby Tuesday to you...
I love weathered wood and I love brick red color.
These are warm and interesting photos.
I so love weathered wood - these are wonderful!
I like the one in your previous post as well.
Stunning presentation.
I am up here
Ah, old weathered wood. It has character and it has seen things! If only it could talk, the stories it would tell us... !

How clever - an interesting RED fence! See how easy it is to find RED! Wonderful! Happy Ruby Tuesday! :)
Although red is the classic color for old wood, I'm kind of partial to the more weathered wood on the left. The grain showing is nice.
I like the log walls!
Very cool presentation! Aged wood is beautiful.
