If you have good balance and the dock doesn't rock too much, I agree you ought to get another year. ;-)
I don't know much about handiwork, but I do recognize a pretty scene. Looks calm and peaceful.
I'm thinking if I were going to bother with a couple of nails, I'd do something to make it last more than a year. Nice shot of an interesting place!
